May the factory of our first domestic and national electric car, which is a historic step for our national economy, yield good results. We are now excitedly waiting for our first car to come off the production line. I would like to extend my gratitude to our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to our government, to the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Turkey's Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG) and the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu who have enabled us to experience the pride of realizing the national automobile project thanks to the confidence they have in Bursa business world".

Referring to the works carried out regarding the domestic automobile project in Bursa, Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of BTSO, stated: “Thanks to the R&D studies we carry out within BUTEKOM, we aim to reach an important standard in carbon dioxide emission while reducing the vehicle weight and fuel consumption of the domestic car. We also completed our project preparations to establish an 'Electric Vehicles Excellence Center'. In this context, we will train expert technical personnel in electric vehicles with the course programs that we will organize within BUTGEM together with Bursa Uludağ University Vocational School of Technical Sciences. It will accept 40 students to the hybrid and electric vehicle technology program to be opened this year. Uludağ University and Bursa Technical University, as well as the level of competence of our engineering graduates, provide us with great opportunities for the success of the domestic automobile project, and to start a new wave of development originated in Bursa. R&D and innovation-oriented works with the cooperation of the public, industrialists, and universities will bring significant gains to our city and national economy. With all our investments and resources, we will continue to make the highest possible contribution to the domestic automobile project that is the most important breakthrough in our national technology initiative. We will keep being the biggest supporter of all steps taken for our national automobile brand to become an international brand".
