Excellence Centers

The Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center, which was established under the leadership of BTSO to strengthen innovation and value-added production in the textile and technical textile sectors, leads the way for the introduction of new ideas in the sector.

This facility which operates within the scope of Bursa Technology Coordination and R & D Center (BUTEKOM), also provides constitution of a common laboratory for the textile and apparel sectors, providing advantages to the companies in terms of cost and time and cost by sending relevant tests to abroad. One of the other services the center provides to conduct R&D studies on technical textile purposes.

Established on an area of approximately 13,000 square meters, the center includes meeting and training halls, pilot production facilities, laboratories, fashion and design areas, company offices, staff offices, social space, warehouse and archive areas.

The Composite Materials Research and Excellence Center, which was established in cooperation with Uludağ University in order to pioneer Bursa in the automotive, machine and textile sectors, will encourage our members to wend their way towards to the composite sector.

Some of the other aims of center is to provide research and know-how support in the production of composite materials, to develop fast production techniques and to improve cost-cutting techniques in carbon fibers for the automotive industry, to develop new thermosetting and thermoplastic prepregs to create the infrastructure for the tests and analyzes required by the companies producing composite and to shorten the time in the composite material production methods.

Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center which has the qualification of being one of the “First in Turkey" of BTSO’s projects aims to contribute added value to the city economy.

With this center, BTSO also continue with its activities at the point of establishing a Nanotechnology Excellence Center which is applied to many areas from medicine to health sector and from aviation to space research.

New R&D Centers

Being one of the key elements of Bursa’s transformation process, R&D Centers aims to develop innovativeness awareness by enabling the transition of companies to innovative and value added products and also increase their global competitiveness.

As BTSO, one of the perpetual subjects in our hierarchy of needs is to adapt R&D Centers today’s conditions in terms of quality and also to increase the number of centers.

Our goal is to increase our country’s identity as a production and export base and also to set a higher bar in R&D and Innovation fields.

With the contribution of BTSO's work, the number of R & D Centers in our city increased by 4 times in 5 years and exceeded 100.

We had a significant role in terms of establishing nearly 20 Design Centers by means of the support from our Ministry of Industry and Technology and works conducted by BTSO, considering these centers were nonexistent in Bursa until 4 years ago.
