Bursa Grows Turkey Grows

July 15th is the Day when Our Nation Declares to the World that Our Free Will can’t be Fettered

Mr. İbrahim Burkay, President of the Board of Directors of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) stated that July 15th was one of the most important turning points of the struggle for democracy in Turkey, while also adding: “Our nation declared to the whole world, once again, that our free will could not be fettered. We will always remember, and make everyone remember, this heroic struggle that leaves its mark in history.”

Mr. Burkay, President of BTSO, made an assessment regarding July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day. In this sense, Mr. Burkay reminded that Turkey had marked four years since FETO (Fetullah Terrorist Organisation), infiltrating and living incognito “inside the veins of the state”, pointed weapons of the state at the Turkish citizens and attempted to overthrow the democratic government in a defeated coup attempt. “Our citizens who hit the streets to protect democracy all across Turkey stepped up onto the tanks putting their lives at stake. They took a stand against the barrels and defeated nefarious coup attempt. On the night of July 15th 2016, when our national will was challenged painfully, 251 citizens were martyred and thousands of our citizens became veterans. With this unique and heroic struggle, our nation declared to the whole world, once again, that our free will could not be fettered,” Mr. Burkay said.

“WE WILL HAND IT DOWN TO THE NEXT GENERATIONS”

“I would like to once again condemn the rogue FETO who attempted against the existence and unity of our nation, and all the evil power groups who pointed weapons at our security forces, murdered our citizens and supported them. We will continue to remind the betrayal of July 15th and the Turkish nation's response to this betrayal and also we will hand it down to the next generations in the most powerful way,” said Mr. President, noting that the insight and courage, revealed by the Turkish nation putting aside all religious, ideological and ethnic differences and uniting under the Turkish Flag, deserved all kinds of praise.

“WE SHOULD STRENGTHEN OUR NATIONAL STRUGGLE THROUGH NEW SUCCESS STORIES”

Mr. President also stressed that Turkey should strengthen its will in democracy through new achievements in the economy and added: “We believe wholeheartedly that, under the leadership of our Esteemed President, we will achieve our goals by means of domestic and national breakthroughs in recent years and we will write a new success story in our economy as well. We, as representatives of Turkish business world, will continue to protect democracy and collaborate for a more prosperous country. I would like to take this occasion to commemorate with respect, mercy and gratitude all our martyrs who turned this land into our homeland, and our heroic citizens who were martyred during the nefarious coup attempt on July 15th. I also commemorate our veterans with gratitude. Happy July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day.”
