Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) announced the results of the 'Bursa 250 Largest Companies Survey-2022', which was conducted for the 26th time this year to shed light on the city's economy. According to the net sales of the companies, Tofaş, Oyak Renault, and Uludağ Elektrik ranked first, second, and third, respectively. İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BTSO, stated that the business community in Bursa continues to work with unwavering faith and diligence in pursuit of Turkey's development goals despite all the conditions that limit trade. He said, "The continued determination to fight inflation and ensure financial stability will pave the way for even greater success."
The 'Bursa 250 Largest Company Survey - 2022', one of BTSO's most comprehensive field studies, has been completed. Accordingly, the net sales of the 250 largest companies amounted to 664.7 billion TL with an increase of 116 percent compared to the previous year with the impact of high inflation and increases in exchange rates. At the end of 2022, CPI was calculated at 64.27 percent and PPI at 97.72 percent.
Production-to-Sales Increased by 112%
The added value created by the 250 Largest Companies in 2022 rose to 104 billion TL by an 86 percent increase compared to 2021. Comparing the two periods, the equity of Bursa's largest companies increased by 133 percent to 192.3 billion TL, their assets increased by 88 percent to 450.2 billion TL, their profits increased by 88 percent to 56.4 billion TL, and their sales from production increased by 112 percent reaching 454 billion TL.
13.5 Billion Dollars in Exports from 250 Largest Companies
The export performance of the 250 Largest Companies reached 13.5 billion dollars with an 8.2% increase. While the companies in the survey provided employment to 170,000 people, the increase rate in this area was 6%. Within the scope of the study, companies' profit/loss before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) were also evaluated. According to this, the EBITDA size of the Bursa 250 increased by 149.5% in 2022. The EBITDA, which was 43.25 billion TL in 2021, amounted to 108 billion TL in 2022. According to the 250 Largest Company Survey, the number of companies that made a profit increased from 217 in 2021 to 227 in 2022.
Automotive heavyweight in net sales
In the 'Bursa 250 Largest Company Survey', automotive sub-industry led with 59 companies. Forty of the companies on the list are active in the textile industry and 26 in the food, agriculture and livestock sector. Companies in the automotive supply industry contributed the most to net sales with a total of 107.1 billion TL, followed by the food, agriculture, and livestock sector with 63.8 billion TL, and the textile sector with 50.4 billion TL.
Tofaş at the Top
According to the survey results ranking companies by their net sales, Tofaş ranked first with a net sales figure of 71.9 billion TL. Oyak Renault completed the year 2022 in second place with a net sales of 62.6 billion TL. Uludağ Elektrik is in the third place with 40.9 billion TL. Following these companies respectively were Borçelik, TGS, Bosch, Sütaş, Sarten Ambalaj, Asil Çelik, and Bamesa Çelik.

Ibrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of Directors at BTSO, emphasized the rapidly changing global supply channels and competition conditions.
