Within the scope of the "Gökmen Project," one of our Chamber's 16 macro projects, the goal is to introduce the younger generation to the aerospace sector, fostering a love for space and aviation and initiating the foundations of the ecosystem through education. The project aims to strengthen and make the transformation initiated in the industry towards the aerospace sector in Bursa permanent. It seeks to ignite the interest of young individuals in the aerospace sector, allowing them to envision their future goals.
The Gökmen Space Aviation Training Center (GUHEM) is designed in collaboration with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and with the support of TÜBİTAK to establish infrastructure in the field of space and aviation.
Key features of GUHEM include:
200 million TL investment
154 interactive educational devices
80 million TL support from TÜBİTAK
GUHEM, Turkey's first space-themed center, is constructed with an approximate area of 13,000 m2. The entire zeppelin-shaped indoor space is dedicated to educational exhibition areas and devices related to space and aviation training.
The groundbreaking ceremony for GUHEM took place on August 22, 2017, with the completion of construction expected by the end of 2018. The aim is for GUHEM to be among the top five aerospace centers globally and one of the best in Europe.
