Another feature of Bursa is its leadership for the establishment of organized industrial zones throughout the country.
In 1961, a consulting firm, conducted a research throughout Turkey on behalf of "State Planning Organization" to find a suitable industrial area. This research was carried out especially in the cities of Bursa, Istanbul, Adapazari, Adana, Mersin and Zonguldak.
As a result of this research it was decided that Bursa is the most appropriate city in Turkey for such a project, and this proposal was presented in a report. Bursa Organized Industrial Zone is the first realized example of its kind.
All kinds of infrastructure maintenance services are provided to maintain high standards of service in Bursa Organized Industrial Zone. In addition, garbage collection, fire extinguishing and ambulance services are offered to companies free of charge. Today Bursa OIZ incorporates 260 factories on 712-hectare field.
With the general assembly held on 10.10.2012, BTSO Organized Industrial Zone is renamed as Bursa Organized Industrial Zone by the separation from BTSO and transitioned to general assembly stage formed by the participants of the region.
