BTSO Turns New Page with Egypt

İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to strengthen trade relations between Turkey and Egypt through the fairs and national delegation visits organized by KFA Fair Organization. 

This marks a new chapter for trade development with Egypt, which represents Turkey's gateway to Africa. Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat visited Egypt officially to assess the country's potential, which presents crucial prospects for Turkish investors, and to fortify trade relations between the two nations. Ibrahim Burkay, the President of BTSO, accompanied Minister Bolat during his engagements in Egypt. President Burkay attended the Trade Delegation and Business Meetings Opening Program between Turkey and Egypt held during the Egyptian International Manufacturing Congress and Fair in Cairo. Following a program co-organized with the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and the Egyptian Federation of Industrialists, the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a goodwill agreement with the Egyptian Chamber of Ready-to-Wear and Home Textile Industrialists and the Egyptian Chamber of Engineering. Furthermore, a cooperation protocol was signed with KFA Fuarcılık, a subsidiary of BTSO, for national and international trade fairs.

"A New Page Opened in Economic Relations "

Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) Chairman, İbrahim Burkay, in his assessment said that Trade Minister Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat and business people's visit to Egypt has opened a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries and taken a significant step towards enhancing commercial and economic ties. Indicating that Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry will play an integral role in the commercial relations between Turkey and Egypt, President Burkay said: "The trade volume with Egypt, which is the biggest trade partner of our country in Africa, has reached 10 billion dollars. We believe that we can increase this figure to 15 billion dollars within 5 years. We want to expand the scope of our relations with Egypt in many areas, especially in the locomotive sectors of Bursa. As BTSO, we will continue to provide all the necessary support to develop our economic relations on the principle of cooperation and 'win-win'."

"Cooperation with Egypt Will Strengthen Through Fairs"

President Burkay mentioned that KFA Fair Organization carried out Turkey’s participation at the Cairo International Fashion & Textile Expo held in Egypt on October 5-7, emphasizing that they initiated a historic collaboration with Egypt in the field of fairs. President Burkay announced that, in collaboration with the Egypt Ready-Made Garment and Home Textile Industrialists Association, six Egyptian companies will participate as exhibitors at the Junioshow to be held in Bursa in November. He also said that, with the help of KFA Fair Organization, Turkish baby and children's ready-to-wear products will be showcased at the Nelly Kids Fashion in Egypt on January 12-14, 2024.

"KFA Fair Organization Will Organize Fairs in Egypt"

President Burkay stated that they aim to realize joint national participation organizations with Egypt in fairs to be held in the Middle East, Balkans, and North Africa in sectors such as baby and children's ready-to-wear, automotive sub-industry, fabric and textile accessories, and home textiles. He he said: “We believe we have cooperation opportunities with Egyptian companies in other emergent nations as well. As part of our goodwill agreement, we will also start efforts to organize a fair for the home textile sector in Egypt. We will transfer the 10 years of fair experience and expertise of our company KFA Fair Organization, which has the authority to organize fairs abroad, to Egypt. Simultaneously with this fair, which will be the first of its kind in Egypt, we will also organize a fabric fair.. Under the leadership of our Ministry of Trade, we will continue our efforts to develop our cooperation with Egypt in every field."
