The Company Opened to USA Market with UR-GE Project of BTSO

Uğur Karoser, who participated in the LCT Show International Fair held in Las Vegas, USA within the scope of Bursa Commercial Vehicle, Carbody, Superstructure and Suppliers Sector UR-GE Project carried out by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), managed to turn this event into an opportunity. In the first place, the company exported 2 minibuses, which it produced in the first place, to the USA with the agreement made at the fair.

The US market, which is one of the most difficult markets to enter in the world, is opened to entrepreneurs from Bursa with the UR-GE project of BTSO. Uğur Karoser Company, which entered the US market with the Project of Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness (UR-GE) implemented with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, sent 2 minibuses that it produced in the first place to Las Vegas. Company owner, Uğur Sönmezyuva said that they have been exporting the minibuses and buses they produce to different cities of Europe for 20 years. Sönmezyuva, who stated that they cooperated with an international company that has branches in Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and the USA and sent their minibuses and buses to different parts of the world, said "Our products have been on the roads in Europe for a long time. Finally, within the scope of BTSO's UR-GE project, we signed a new collaboration at the fair we attended in Las Vegas. We received orders for 25 vehicles from a company we had previously talked to at the fair."

EXPORT SUCCESS DESPITE THE EPIDEMIC

Sönmezyuva, who noted that their visit to the USA created an element of trust for the company they signed an agreement with, said, “Thanks to UR-GE, we had the opportunity to go to the USA and conclude our previous meetings. We started working immediately after we received the orders. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic that negatively affected the whole world, we have only sent 2 vehicles for now. Through Gemlik Port, the vehicles first reached Portugal and then to the USA. And we had to postpone the dates of other orders for now. We are happy to export despite the epidemic. We would like to thank BTSO Management, who added strength to our industry with the UR-GE project. We will continue to carry out our work and focus on new projects. "

"WE CARE THE US MARKET"

BTSO Board Member Muhsin Koçaslan stressed that Bursa, which is the leader city of Turkey's automotive sector, has got experienced companies in the carbody sector. Reminding that they started the Bursa Commercial Vehicle, Carbody, Superstructure and Suppliers Sector UR-GE Project by bringing together the important players of the sector with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Koçaslan said, “There are 30 companies in our project. Our aim is to reflect the potential of the sector in production to exports. The USA is an extremely important market especially in terms of the sector. In addition to the opportunities it offers, we also care about this market in terms of expanding the horizons of our companies. In this direction, we carried out the first international marketing activity in the USA in November last year. We organized our second international event in the USA in February this year. Our companies participating in the LCT Show International Fair held in Las Vegas also examined the production facilities of the leading companies in the sector.''

THE TARGET IS INCREASING EXPORT

Koçaslan, who expressed that they are pleased that the negotiations made during the international marketing activities in the USA were concluded with an export agreement, said, “The export of our 30 companies operating under UR-GE exceeds 60 million dollars. Our aim is to raise this figure to much higher. At this point, we attach great importance to the export agreement made by our company Uğur Carbody in the USA. In the coming period, we, as BTSO, will continue to work with all our strength in order to increase the competitiveness of our companies both in the USA market and in all other markets."
