Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO evaluated the growth of Turkish economy realized at the rate of 5,2% in the second quarter of 2018. Mr. Burkay emphasized completing the second quarter of the year with over 5% growth despite the economic and financial attacks towards our country is very valuable. He added by saying that supporting the industry and export will expedite the growth speed.
Mr. Burkay stated that the acquired growth in the second quarter of 2018 is the proof of growth dynamics of Turkey’s economy. He added; “Considering the process Turkey is in with the elections, tension with foreign trade, rapid increase of foreign exchange rates, a 5,2% economic growth is very promising. Turkey which completed the first half of the year with over 6% growth rate is the most to indicate growth performance among OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, European Union and G20 countries.
INDUSTRY AND EXPORT HAS STRENGTHEN THE GROWTH
Mr. Ibrahim Burkay pointed out the fact the contribution of industry and export strengthens the growth. “Growth in this period contributed to an increase of 4.3% in industrial production and 4.5% in foreign trade.” Mr. Burkay added by saying that the growth derived from industry and export indicates a quality growth.
GROWTH WILL ACCELERATE WITH SUPPORT
Mr. İbrahim Burkay emphasized that the growth will accelerate once the increase in value added production, incentives and support intended for industry and export, and the implementation of the Medium Term Program carried in to effect. “Our private sector made the best of the support provided by the economy administration up to now and contributed to growth in the most powerful way. We expect to see increased support for industry and export for the comprehensive growth that our country needs in the upcoming period.”
Mr. Burkay completed his speech by saying that as Bursa business world they will continue to work with “To Produce and to Export relentlessly” perception in order to contribute the most to growth figures of Turkey.
