BUTEKOM AIMS TO REDUCE FOREIGN DEPENDENCY WITH TEST PROCESSES

Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Center (BUTEKOM) has gained a new identity through the works of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) aims to reduce foreign dependency with the laboratory accreditation certificate obtained from Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) regarding the test processes of the companies.

 

While BUTEKOM is taking firm actions in terms of contribution to the qualitative growth of the sectors it also adds more power to R&D studies of companies especially which operates in automotive, textile, composite and chemistry sectors. BUTEKOM, serving with its 13 thousand square meter complex, pioneering the innovation-oriented growth of the textile sector through the Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center. BUTEKOM also continues to work on the establishment and infrastructure of the Center for Advanced Composite Materials Research and Excellence and Nanotechnology Excellence Center.

 

200 COMPANIES PREFERRED BUTEKOM

 

Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of the Board of Directors of BTSO and BUTEKOM stated that BUTEKOM which attracts attention with its capacity to test different areas focused on textile and ready to wear industries embodies Turkey’s first Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center. Mr. Burkay also said that the center is leading the solution-oriented pioneering work in the transition of medium and high technology to the center since 2017, noting that the textile industry and more than 200 companies from different sectors benefited from the test analysis and inspection services of the center.

 

WORLD QUALITY SERVICE

 

Mr. Burkay stated that BUTEKOM received international laboratory accreditation certificate for 16 tests as part of TS EN ISO IC 17025 by TURKAK as of 22 May 2018. With the new process, the center became accredited in the textile, plastic and rubber sectors. Mr. Burkay said; “The accreditation certificate that our Center was entitled to receive signifies that the testing process and its results are internationally reliable, equitable and acceptable. Completion process of the accreditation of BUTEKOM laboratories not only increases the number of companies requests analysis, also pioneered cooperation efforts.

COMPOSITE EXCELLENCE CENTER WILL BE AVAILABLE IN 2019

Mr. Ibrahim Burkay emphasized that the Advanced Composite Materials Research and Excellence Center they aim to realize under the roof of BUTEKOM, will contribute to the sustainable growth of the sectors.  He also added that the infrastructure work for the constitution of the project which is prepared for the sectors that produce and use advanced composite materials continues and it is aimed to complete the establishment in 2019.

 

AIMED TO REDUCE FOREIGN DEPENDENCY

Mr. Ibrahim Burkay stated that it aimed to fulfill the R &D and know-how needs of the companies and available them to access high quality and unique information at an international level through the new excellence center. He also said their goal is to reduce foreign dependency of the sectors in terms of testing, analysis and inspection services. “Bursa is a city which delivers Turkey’s dreams. R & D, innovation, design and branding have an important role in the growth of industry of Bursa. As BTSO, we will continue to develop projects for our companies to gravitate towards technology-oriented growth in their sectors.”

 

HIGH TECHNOLOGY MUST BE ROUTE OF EVERY COMPANY

 

Mr. Burkay specified that they develop projects devoted to increasing advanced technology oriented production of both Bursa and Turkey and underlined the fact that the most important threshold matter for Turkey to achieve its future goals is the advanced technology production. “As BTSO, we continue our advanced technology oriented investments such as TEKNOSAB. Currently, technology production in our country is at the average industry level of 2.5. Bursa’s average is above Turkey figure with industry 3.0. However, it is insufficient and we ought to take change our route towards advance technology. Our centers of excellence, which are our most valuable investments, guide our sectors to 'technology' oriented business. I invite our sector representatives benefit from the services and opportunities of BUTEKOM.”

 

SME’S WILL PREPARE FOR LEAN PRODUCTION WITH MODEL FACTORY 

 

Mr. Mustafa Hatipoğlu, PhD; General Director of BUTEKOM stated that R & D studies are being held at the center devoted to textile, rubber, automotive, machine and plastic industries with the vision of BTSO. He also said that currently, The Textile and Technical Textile Excellence Center (TTTMM) the Advanced Composite Materials Research and Excellence Center (IKMAMM), Nanotechnology Excellence Center and the Bursa Model Factory projects are being carried out under the roof of BUTEKOM. He mentioned that especially the Bursa Model Factory project is being developed in cooperation with The Ministry of Industry and Technology and Directorate of Productivity and United Nations of Development Program (UNDP). “Within the scope of this project, SMEs in Bursa will initially be trained in lean production technologies. It will then be transformed into applied competency centers in accordance with Industry 4.0 through digitization practice.”

 

203 TRAINING TO 7 THOUSAND PEOPLE

 

Mr. Hatipoğlu pointed out that BUTEKOM provided 1.000 hours of education with more than 200 trainings to 7 thousand people to this day. He added by stating; In addition to textile; composite, energy efficiency, clean production, project writing support programs, lean production, marketing, laboratory training and general information seminars were organized.
