The restoration of Uludağ Lifelong Learning Centre (UYEM) project which will make the Kirazlıyayla Sanatorium Building, one of the important cultural assets of Uludağ, one of the most prestigious educational bases in the business world, started by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO).
The first step was taken to create new training base of Turkey (Kirazlıyayla Sanatorium building) and the nearby geography for business world through UYEM Project which was one of the most important investment during the first period of history of the republic. While giving a speech in the groundbreaking ceremony of UYEM, Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu; Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey said that UYEM is an important step to reveal the potential of Uludağ.
“WE DECLARED MOBILIZATION FOR ULUDAG”
Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu; Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, who would like to express his sincere thanks to BTSO Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of Board of the Directors of BTSO and his team who undertake the project to add an important value to Uludag having a magnificent view, said “I would like to express my sincere thanks to our ministry for providing their contribution of opportunities and allocation. This building was planned as a hospital in the first years of the history of Republic. Then, it served as a sanatorium in which consumptives were treated for almost 30 years. I thank everyone who take on responsibilities, and bring Bursa such a spirited historical building” At the end of his speech, Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu added “We declared mobilization today to help Uludag show its actual potential.”
“WE WISH TO ORGANIZE THE ULUDAG SUMMIT IN UYEM”
Mr. Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu; Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs stated that the 5th of January is a historic date for Uludağ. “ 'Four Seasons Uludağ Summit’ will be milestone for Uludağ through the present investments”
“IT WILL BE AN EXAMPLARY CENTRE FOR THE WORLD”
Mr. Eroglu spoke highly of Uludağ Lifelong Learning Centre. Stating that they would like to organize the summit in UYEM that was preplanned to be held in next January, in Uludağ, he said “UYEM will add value to Uludag and Bursa. I felt excited when the project was first discussed and I said ‘See me as a soldier. I am at your service.’ This centre to be directed by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a congress will be one of the most important centre of Bursa. UYEM will be an exemplary project for Turkey and the world. I send my deepest compliments to Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for having the vision of ‘Bursa Grows Turkey Grows’ I wish good luck with our centre.
“WE DESIRE TO BE IN WORLD’S TOP THREE”
Mr. İbrahim Burkay; President of Board of the Directors of BTSO said that they brought Bursa such a unique heritage once again through Kirazlıkaya Sanatorium Building. Stating that they got inspired by Wilton Park in England and INSEAD in France while preparing the UYEM project, Mr. Burkay said that their target is to provide services for local and foreign business world representatives through UYEM. Stating that they would like to turn UYEM into an institution as a reference learning centre for the business world, “We have targeted that UYEM will be in the top three when compared to its equivalents in the world. This centre will put intellectual experience of the globe into service for members of BTSO and Turkish business world. Knowledge capital, intelligence and experience will gather here.”
“IT WILL BE AN ATTRACTION CENTRE OF THE NEARBY GEOGRAPHY”
Stating that they would restore the building, that is one of the most important works built in the early years of the republic in line with the contemporary architecture by protecting its historic fabric, Mr. Burkay said “We would also wish to turn this centre into a congress centre. Our target is to provide trainings for not only local senior executives but also ones from the international companies located in nearby geography by means of UYEM. UYEM contributes to brand value of Uludag and Bursa considerably. UYEM will add value to Uludag and Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry also continues to enrich Bursa.”
Mr. İzzettin Küçük; Governor of Bursa, mentioned that, UYEM project realized with the vision of BTSO would contribute to the transformation in Uludag and said “UYEM is an incredible and smart project. UYEM will be a centre to open a new window into internationalization of Uludag. I thank Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.”
“BURSA DESERVES ALL SORTS OF BEAUTY”
Mr. Alinur Aktaş; Mayor of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality said “Uludağ is one of the most important topic for us. I hope that this training base and the other investments will be fruitful for Bursa. Bursa is a fertile city. It deserves all sorts of beauty with its history, agriculture, culture, artworks and commerce.”
The members of protocol gave the start of UYEM project and 14 investments. Then, Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu, Mr. Veysel Eroğlu and accompanying protocol went over some parts of UYEM that will be restored.
THE NEW TRAINING BASE OF BUSINESS WORLD: UYEM
The premises of UYEM will be a lifelong learning centre for the business world in which there are hotel building, study rooms for individuals and groups, library, conference rooms, cafeteria and restaurants, swimming pools, gym and SPA centre. UYEM is located 23 kilometres far from the city centre, 7 kilometres far from the hotels area, 2,5 kilometres far from the entrance of the national park.
