BTSO Took Action for Air Cargo Transportation

 

Mr. Hasan Çepni; Chairman of the Logistics Council of BTSO said that cargo storages should be opened for use of the air cargo transportation at Yenişehir Airport in Bursa.

Sectoral Councils which set example to chambers and exchanges continue to establish the agenda of city and country economy.

Members of the Logistic Council that operate under the umbrella of BTSO took action to start the air cargo transportation in Bursa. Council members paid a visit to the Yenişehir Airport.

 

AIR CARGO STORAGES HAVE BEEN ANALYZED

Mr. Hasan Çepni; Chairman of the Logistics Council and Member of the Assembly of BTSO visited the airport along with Mr. Mehmet Aydın Kalyoncu; Chairman of 48th Committee and members of the council.

Members of the Logistics Council visited Mr. Recep Pak; Manager of the Yenişehir Airport at his office and were informed about the condition of air cargo storages which exist within the structure of the airport. Delegation from BTSO also observed the airport runway.

 

PROJECT OF THE CENTURY WILL ATTRACT GREAT ATTENTION

Mr. Çepni said that Bursa Yenişehir Airport has been demanded strongly in recent years. “Especially after opening of the İstanbul-Bursa- İzmir highway, interest towards to the airport will increase more. Until today, we haven’t made use of Yenişehir Airport’s advantages and capacity; the airport will reach its true potential in five years.”

 

WE NEED TO ACTIVATE AIR CARGO STORAGES

Mr. Hasan Çepni pointed out that, Yenişehir airport needs to be used as much as possible. He also said that cargo storages need to be brought into use which was built along with the airport 15 years ago. “Bursa has the potential to become the center of South Marmara with air cargo transport. Bursa is one of the leading cities in Turkey’s export trade. Yenişehir is the right address for transporting our products to all over the world. We should reactivate this field that we haven’t been using until now as soon as. As Bursa’s business world we will continue our work to activate these storages.”

Mr. Mehmet Aydın Kalyoncu; Chairman of 48th Committee highlighted that; “In order to put cargo transport in to operation we should speed up bureaucratic procedures as soon as possible.”

 

SUITABLE FOR CARGO TRANSPORTATION

 Mr. Recep Pak; Manager of the Yenişehir Airport stated that, nearly 23 thousand passengers uses the airport per month and the interest to the airport has  increased over the past years. Mr. Pak said that the airport has 9 thousand 460 square meters indoor area of cargo facility. He also stated that field has eight walk-in coolers with 115 cubic meter capacity each. “General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) Yenişehir Airport is open for 24 hours of domestic and international passenger and cargo traffic. Our airfield is suitable for landing and takeoff for every type of passenger and cargo aircraft. With the arrival of highloader transport which can load to every type of cargo aircraft, there are no other obstacles left for cargo airplanes.”
