Close-Marking from Argentinian Companies to Bursa Business World

Bursa as Turkey's gateway to the world, continues to search for new and alternative markets and under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry at full steam. Following the negotiations in Sao Paulo which is located 11.000 kilometres far from Turkey, representatives of Bursa business world went to Buenos Aires and attracted great attention of Latin American Companies.

Bursa business world has been showing significant success on global export of its products and services and is determined to reach a more effective position in South America in line with Turkey’s export-oriented development purpose. Under the guidance of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, members of BTSO performed corporate visits and conducted bilateral business meetings then they changed their route to Argentina. BTSO members, who visited Argentina Chamber of Commerce and Services in the capital city of Buenos Aires at first, were welcomed by executive directors of the chamber and Mr. Ignacio Dos Reis; President of the Commission of Exports and Imports of the Chamber. Making a speech during the visit of the members of BTSO including Mr. Şükrü Çekmişoğlu; Member of the Board of Directors of BTSO and Mr. Yusuf Ertan; Committee member of BTSO, Mr. Ignacio dos Reis mentioned that they have been getting ready for a new break on foreign trade and they have developed new policies to enhance trade volumes of Argentina. Stating that the economy of Bursa has a great potential, Mr. Ignacio dos Reis said that they set mind on new cooperation to be carried out between two countries.

 “OUR EFFECTIVENESS WILL INCREASE IN SOUTH AMERICAN MARKETS”

 Mr. Şükrü Çekmişoğlu; Member of the Board of Directors of BTSO said that Bursa is the second biggest exporter city of Turkey after İstanbul with its 14-million-dollar export volume. Stating that BTSO would like to increase foreign trade potentials of its members and it has 75-billion-dollar export volume in 2023 in its sights, Mr. Çekmişoğlu said “It was our first well-rounded organisation in Argentina within this scope. We would like to have more effective role in the South American market as of Bursa business world. While our exports from Bursa to Argentina in the year 2017 were 28.5 million dollars, our imports were also 15 million dollars. We want to move these figures to much higher levels with new and strong commercial relationships.

On the second day of the programme in Argentina, bilateral business meetings were conducted. Argentinian companies showed great interest in to the meetings with companies operating mainly in rail systems, machinery, space, aviation and defence sectors. 

 “ARGENTINA AND BURSA HAVE BEEN GETTING CLOSER”

Mr. Mariano Moster; Commercial Manager of BK Group, one of the Argentinian companies said that they have a company working on customs transactions. Stating that bilateral business negotiations conducted by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry are important opportunities to establish new business connections with Turkish companies, Mr. Moster said “In Argentina, the government is gradually removing many obstacles in front of the trade with new regulations. These negotiations will also provide significant opportunities for trade between the two countries. We know that Bursa is very strong in automotive, auxiliary equipment and machinery sectors. Argentina also need these kinds of companies. I think Argentina and Bursa have been getting closer.”

Mr. Roberto Luis Hodes Gerente; secretary of Argentine Chamber of Aviation mentioned that they conducted bilateral business negotiations for the sake of both his company and the other companies on aviation sector. Stating that they had the chance to conduct fruitful negotiations, Mr. Gerente said “These kinds of negotiations will develop commercial relationship between companies from Bursa and us. We thank Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its contributions on this organization. I will really want to visit Bursa during my next travel to Europe.

 

“THERE ARE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES IN BRASIL AND ARGENTINA"

Mr. Metin Ertufan; America Regional Sales Manager of Nukon, said that they are proud to be in such far-field markets as Bursa machine manufactures. He said “In terms of expanding the market, we made important bilateral negotiations both in Brazil and in Argentina. We will continue to represent Bursa business world in these markets in the best possible way.”   

Mr. Mesut Akyapak; Marketing manager of Beka Mak, said that they have carried on business on metal cutting operations. Stating that South America is a market that they have been in touch with but have not started making sales yet, Mr. Akyapak said “We established important connections in Argentina. We hope to convert these connections into ordering. South American markets have been reviving. It is very important to put it to good use. I would like to thank Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its efforts on this organization. 

Mr. Eşref Akın; Finance Director of B Plas said that this organization carried out by BTSO in Brazil and Argentina is stimulating for the companies. Indicating that they conducted fruitful negotiations on aircraft manufacture industry both in Brazil and in Argentina, “There are important business opportunities here. We want to put these important opportunities into operation. I thank our Chamber for presenting us these opportunities.”

 SUPPORTS OF KOSGEB AND THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMY 

The Ministry of Economy supports activities such as education, consulting, bilateral business negotiations conducted abroad within the International Competitiveness Development Projects of BTSO. Machinery, railway systems, aerospace, aviation and defence companies participated to business trips in Brazil and Argentina within the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Business trips organized within the scope of Global Fair Agency Project of BTSO are considerably supported by Small and Medium Industry Development Organisation. KOSGEB subsidizes BTSO members up to 3.000 Turkish Liras for close countries and up to 5.000 Turkish Liras for far countries within the scope of Global Fair Agency Project carried out by BTSO.
