Call for Support for Cooperation In Health Sector from Germany

An Investment meeting held by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the attendance of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province in Germany. During the meeting Mr. Stefan Rudolph Counselor in Ministry of Economy, Labor and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province stated that Bursa is the most appropriate choice for cooperation in health tourism sector for them.

Mr. Mustafa Esgin; President of Health Council and Member of the Assembly of BTSO, Mr. Stefan Rudolph; Counselor in Ministry of Economy, Labor and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province, Ms. Sabine Sibel Cura Ölcüoğlu; Honorary Cosul of Germany Bursa Honorary Consulate and company representatives were all participants of the meeting. 

 

HEALTH SECTOR IS A STRATEGICAL GOAL

Mr. Esgin stated during his opening speech that Bursa is known to be the first city for health and thermal resources with its 1500 years of thermal resource. He also reminded the fact that many historical characters from Theodora; Empress of Byzantine and to Suleiman the Magnificent sought cure in Bursa. “Health Tourism has become a strategical target and country policy in Turkey. As BTSO we are realizing significant projects for benefit of improvement of Health Tourism in Bursa; especially the Healthcare Free Zone project, Clustering Project and Medical Thermal Tourism Forum has capital importance for the improvement of Health Tourism in Bursa. We hope that the gathering today will contribute to the rising of tourism in Bursa.”

 

HEALTH TOURIST SPENDS 10 TIMES MORE FOREIGN EXCHANGE

Mr. Esgin; President of Health Council underlined the fact that as Health tourism composes significant importance in terms of economical resource for cities and countries, this field should not be ignored. The health tourists spend 10 times more foreign exchange in comparison with an ordinary tourist during their visit to Turkey and this data reveals the fact that how the health tourism has great impact on economy. “We need to expedite the publicity of our city in order to fully benefit from its potential in health tourism field. I believe we and the German visitors we have welcomed today will form important cooperation’s in the future. “

 

“COMING TO BURSA WAS THE RIGHT DECISION “

Mr. Stefan Rudolph; Counselor in Ministry of Economy, Labor and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province stated that the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the only province to conduct works in the matter of health tourism in Germany. With population of 1,6 million people the province is located northeast side of Germany and is the most visited town by families in Germany. “Health economy is the main subject we heavily focus on in our province. Bursa appeals in the same field like we do and considering the projects the city realized and the potential of the city it is obvious we have made the right decision by coming to Bursa for purposeful cooperation in the health sector.” Mr. Rudolph also said that they wish to welcome a delegation from Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province and to sign a mutual cooperation agreement between two parties.

 

WE NEED THE TURKISH-GERMAN COOPERATION

Mr. Stefan Rudolph said that two countries need to compose powerful economic cooperation and that this cooperation will be beneficial to both country economies.

“Turkey’s economical reputation has never been shaken in Germany, Germany’s investment to Turkey has raised up to 13 billion dollars and we are the second country to most invest in Turkey after Holland with almost 7 thousand enterprises” Mr. Rudolph also said that they wish to have more collaborations with Turkey in the future.

Ms. Sabine Sibel Cura Ölcüoğlu; Honorary Consul of Germany Bursa Honorary Consulate stated that meetings such as they had in Bursa is crucial for economic relations. “There are almost 250 German citizens residing in Bursa and they see Bursa as their home.”

After the speeches, representatives of German companies proceed to tell their success stories and gave all sorts of information regarding investment opportunities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Province.
